I cannot bear to not talk about this out loud!  Your health is your most important gift in life and WAY TOO MANY people need to start asking questions and taking responsibility!   Any health condition needs to be throughly checked and reviewed!  NOT JUST BY YOUR DOCTOR!!!  People need to take some interest in their own health, research, and ask questions!  I do not mean to go on the internet and give yourself cancer by entering syptoms and all signs lead to cancer!  Doctors are people and with this goes different practices, beliefs, OPINIONS, and decision making!  You are ultimately in charge of you and your health choices!  There is nothing wrong with a second, third, or fourth opinion!  If a doctor is offended by you getting another opionion then he should not be practicing medicine!  Doctors are there to help guide you, give you options, and administer treatments NOT be completely responisible YOUR HEALTH!  If anything today take time to think about how you make your health decisions!


You Will Get 6 Estimates…BUT Not A Second Opinion!

I am on a roll today…so watch out!  Why is it that people will get 6 estimates for something around their house BUT do not get a second opinion for their health?  It truly scares me and truthfully makes me angry that people are willing to be so passive with their lives.  I believe that you should comfortable with you physician and having a MUTUAL working relationship with regard YOUR health…Did you hear the MUTUAL part?!  No one is perfect…and trust me that means no one!  People need to be more responsible for themselves and their health treatment decisions.  If you are still wondering after the second opinion, seek a third!  I am not saying that any of them are right or wrong OR that you should not respect your physician BUT they too should respect you and your decision making process.  If a doctor tries to discourage a second opinion EVER this is a major red flag!  Even if you get the second opinion but stay with the first physician this is OKAY to do and should not be shunned!  We are talking about life, health, and longevity not a new toilet in the powder room.  Step up and advocate for yourself, the responsible party.  Stepping down off of the soap box now!

I would like to encourage everyone to give yoga a try.  I am certainly not a guru but I do love how I feel when I do yoga!  Yoga reduces stress and gives you a calm.  Of course it is also great for your body…stretching, breathing, and strength training.  I promise you will use muscles that you never knew you had, and your husband will thank us, as you will be limber like a pretzel sister!  

If you are uncomfortable to go to a class try some DVDs at home for a while until you get the hang of it, but trust me going to a class is the best way, and there are always new people.  Everyone does yoga at different levels, so don’t be shy just do it!  It also helps with my favorite thing too DETOX!    Namaste chicas!
